Short Bio

Susanne joined Profil’s Project Development Team as Scientific Study Advisor in October 2012. She is a chemist and has an academic background in basic science with focus on molecular biochemistry. In her PhD thesis at the German Diabetes Center in Düsseldorf, she investigated adipokine secretion from and inflammation of the adipose tissue and its potential role in obesity-induced diabetes mellitus.

At Profil, she is involved in the design and dissemination of clinical trials with a focus on investigating novel insulins and non-insulin adjunct therapies in subjects with type 1 diabetes mellitus. She is expert in pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of novel insulin formulations as well as therapeutic approaches for treatment optimisation of type 1 diabetes.
