简介

Eric Zijlstra具有生物医学工程的学科背景（荷兰埃因霍温科技大学），他曾在英国伯明翰大学与阿利斯康公司（英国Alderley Park）的合作中担任研究生研究员，从而开始了他在糖尿病领域的职业生涯。在阿斯利康，Eric在糖尿病的动物模型中建立了稳定的同位素葡萄糖示踪剂和间接测热法，使用这些方法对新型葡萄糖激酶激活剂进行了临床前研究。

2008年，Eric加入了Profil，迄今他已参与了80多项临床试验，并研究了多种正在开发的糖尿病药物和医疗设备。在药物方面，他的主要研究兴趣是新型胰岛素制剂，从速效到超长效以及口服、吸入和皮下给药形式。在设备方面，他的关注重点在于血糖监测和胰岛素应用设备。
